Creative bookmaking sessions held in the morning encourage using art and words about various topics to make stories that we illustrate and put into our own handmade books.
In the afternoon there are two workshops, Art and Dance.
The Creative Arts Students have developed into an enthusiastic group with lots of ambition to learn more art skills and gain knowledge. The students always get really involved with each theme and art project, bringing in library books, photographs and images, so encouraging group discussions, which promotes further interest and engagement in their local community, as well as enriching the learning experience.
Dance Workshops are also held upstairs in the large studio. This group discuss what dances they will do over a term period. They decide on the music and choreograph the dance accordingly with a view to an end performance to friends and family and also in a public place.
Several study visits are organised each year including an educational tour or talk. The students love these excursions and have become much more confident at exploring these amazing public places of interest independently and will take friends too, so truly engaging in their own community.
